Ebay Find Sparks Fire Station Aniversary Celebrations
The chance discovery of an old document on ebay has sparked 65th anniversary celebrations for a Shropshire fire station.
A member of The Fire Brigade Society had found the original programme for the opening of Wellington Fire Station in 1953 on the internet auction site.

On Saturday 5th May 2018, FBS Scotland members, plus two Society members from the FBS North East and FBS Yorkshire and The Humber, visited all seven wholetime stations and the one retained station in the City of Edinburgh LSO Area. This meant starting at South Queensferry and finishing at Sighthill.

A mixture of Scania Rescue Pumps were photographed with bodywork by Emergency One and JDC. However, members were particularly interested in the Volvo FE / Rosenbauer Metz L32, Turntable Ladder, based at Tollcross, in the city centre, and the new Scania P320 Heavy Rescue Unit, built by W H Bence, which is due to go on the run at Sighthill later in the May 2018.

Thanks are extended to Deputy Chief Fire Officer Perry for allowing the visit and to all the personnel from 'Amber Watch', whom we met on the day.

After careful consideration the potential Winter meet in the Wyre Forest on Saturday November 11 2017 has been cancelled due to operational considerations from H&W. The forward plan is to include the Wyre Forest stations in a Midland visit in 2018. The FBS Midlands apologise for this postponement but trust that you will appreciate it is a decision made in conjunction with our potential host.
